The Power Of One

They say one is too small to achieve greatness or change the world. I agree but not totally. Every great move or achievement starts with one person. Every great company, idea or product starts with one person. What that one person does with what he has determines whether people will hear about their feats or not. Martin Luther King inspired a generation to radically change the face of America. That quest for change started with one person.

Gandhi was frail, yet he led one of the greatest and most peaceful movements in the history of mankind. He led India to independence and inspired the  movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. One person, one decision, one commitment, one call, one mission. Author and speaker Steve Maraboli said:

Never question the power of one! Throughout history it has been the actions of only one person that has inspired the movement of change.

There are people always waiting for that one person that is bold and connects with their convictions, values and resolution. Daring to do something with your conviction and risking being misunderstood will transform not just your life but the lives of the people that buy into your vision and mission. This will cause a ripple effect that can affect many generations to come.

Walt Disney had this crazy idea of building theme parks that families could visit and enjoy. Even though he died in December 1966, his idea is still alive and with us till today. Apart from Disneyland Florida, there are other international sites in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong. It was reported that the annual revenue for the 2013 financial year was approximately US$45 billion. Everyone working and earning a living today from Disneyland would not be if it Walt Disney had not taken the risk to be that ONE. Truly, his legacy is inspiring and affecting generations positively.

I dare you to be the ONE a generation is waiting for. Until you give it a shot, you would never know how far your idea will go or how much effect it would have on mankind.
