There is no ‘more’ or ‘less’ in faith.
The fundamentals of Christianity is the belief and declaration that Jesus is the Son of God and was crucified for mankind’s redemption. It was an act of pure love that resulted into an unwavering trust – faith in God. Faith is the currency spent in Christianity. You can do nothing or achieve anything without faith for it is impossible to please God without faith. The apostles following Jesus in his days asked him to give them more faith, it’s a reasonable request. I must have asked for more faith as well at some point in my Christian walk. They must have thought, if we have more faith, then we can achieve great things and please God more. They were shocked with his response.
Give us more faith,” they asked, but the Master said, “You don’t need more faith. There is no ‘more’ or ‘less’ in faith. If you have a bare kernel of faith, say the size of a poppy seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it would do it.
You are given a measure of faith the moment you confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Faith does not work based on size but on exercise. “You don’t need more faith,” he told them. You have what it takes already. You only need to put the little faith you have to work. Your faith grows in line with your experiences and achievements. There is no more or less in faith. It is just there like an off and on switch.
